If you are, after giving birth, at home with the baby a nurse will visit you every day at home until the 8th or 10th day. She will help you with the care of your baby. She will help you to change nappy, show you how to bathe the baby, check the baby and how to care for yourself and the baby.
We visit you every other day to check you and your baby and answer your questions.
In this period we are responsible for you and your baby so you can always reach us on the emergency number if needed. Then we come as soon as possible.
Between the 5th and 8th day the GGD comes by to take some blood from the baby to check if the baby has any diseases. They also do a hearing test. During the pregnancy we give you some information about this.
